On arrival back at the start point Pepper once again stole the show with a swim out to the kayaks for a lift back to shore with her dad. Â There was a rush to get the kayaks loaded this evening as it was one of the biggest tides of the year and the tide was flooding into Loch Etive. Â Playboaters head to the Falls of Lora to catch the ebbing tide but Tony assured me that for a sea kayaker the flood was far better. Â We arrived back at his place with about an hour of daylight left to play in the tide. Â Alex had the best surf of the evening, beating myself and Tony by far. Â I had to edit it down from five minutes!
So, the last day arrived and saw two new people enter my group for the morning. Â The plan was to paddle up Loch Etive from Connel.
We were against the tide and found a few little jets to play with some ferry gliding and breaking in and out with. Â Having watched us do it in the full flood of the Falls of Lora the previous evening the group were very keen to learn these skills.
Soon though we had to press on as trains had to be caught back to London. Â We had a quick bit for lunch and continued down Loch Etive.
Arriving at our destination in plenty of time for everyone to catch the train. We just about beat the rain and all left to go in different directions home. A great few days in Scotland, meeting some wonderful people.
